Check out the information below. We hope you’ll join us soon at a Shabbat service or event.
We welcome Shabbat most Friday evenings at 6 pm in the Aspen Chapel, indoors or in the garden during summer months. At least once a month, we hold Friday Shabbat services in Carbondale or at Camp Bashert along the Roaring Fork River near Glenwood Springs. During the summer months, we occasionally hold Saturday morning services atop Ajax Mountain. In the winter, we gather some Saturday mornings for a brief Shabbat service on Buttermilk Mountain.
All of these services include English and Hebrew, prayer and song, led by our clergy and professional musicians.
Dress comfortably. You’ll see everything from casual mountain wear (jeans and hiking boots) to business casual. There’s no formal dress code – just come as you are.
Absolutely! We love welcoming visitors. Whether you’re here for a weekend, a season, or longer, you’re always welcome at AJC.
Most of our services and programs are open and free to attend, especially regular Shabbat services. Some special events, holidays, or dinners may require an RSVP or suggested donation – please check our calendar or contact us to learn more.
