Open Door: A (Re-)Introduction to Judaism for All
April 6, 2027 @ 9:30 am - 11:00 am MDT
A Jewish learning journey for curious adults
Whether you’re exploring Judaism for the first time, reconnecting with your Jewish roots, considering conversion, or simply curious to learn more, Open Door is for you.
Led by Rabbi Shira Stutman and other Jewish educators, this five-month course offers an opportunity to explore Judaism’s ideas, traditions, texts, and practices in a welcoming community where questions are encouraged and no prior Jewish knowledge is required.
You don’t have to know what you believe—or even what you’re looking for—to walk through this door.
What will we explore?
Together, we’ll delve into:
- Jewish beliefs and big questions: God, spirituality, theology, and the many ways Jews understand the world.
- Jewish texts and traditions: Torah, Talmud, Jewish interpretation, and the evolution of Jewish thought.
- Holidays and rituals: Shabbat, Passover, the High Holidays, blessings, prayer, and the rhythms of Jewish life.
- Jewish values and practices: Ethics, justice, halacha (Jewish law), kashrut (Jewish dietary practice), and repairing the world.
- Jewish life, past and present: History, Israel, Jewish identity, family and life-cycle traditions, and contemporary Jewish communities.
Along the way, we’ll build friendships, share stories, celebrate Shabbat, and explore what Jewish life might mean to each of us.
